Our Story

From a small plant in the 70s to exporting to seven countries today. Here is how we built a proudly Malaysian chocolate brand.

How It All Started

Our founder, Mr. Ng Tuck Ming, learned the chocolate business from the ground up. He started in Singapore at the Allied Chocolate Factory, which was the first chocolate factory in Southeast Asia.

He spent years mastering the process. By 1973, he knew it was time to take the next step, so he built his very own manufacturing plant.

Making Malaysia Our Home

In 1999, Mr. Ng made a big move. During the Asian Financial Crisis, he relocated the entire factory to Malaysia. He saw early on that the country was going to become a major center for cocoa processing.

Once we settled in Malaysia, we started trying new things. We became the first company to make freeze-dried fruit chocolates. We also created the very first durian chocolate in Asia.

Where We Are Today

Today, Benns Chocolate Factory is sharing the unique flavours of Malaysian cacao with the world. We have grown into an established exporter, with our chocolates now enjoyed in seven different countries.

As we grow, our focus stays exactly the same. We care about making great chocolate, running a sustainable business, and supporting the local farmers we work with every day.
